Works with IncusOS?

Viewed 32

hi, it seems that all the documentation is from the perspective of running Incus on a standard linux host, which has its own ssh keys and can install arbitrary software.

Has there been any thought to this working on IncusOS and what that would look like?

Maybe I'm too new and missed something, which is totally possible, but from what I'm seeing now, IncusOS doesn't have ssh on its own, can't add arbitrary keys, and can't install arbitrary packages. It's all locked down for security to be a platform.

So that's my question: any thoughts or consideration for this works with IncusOS?

Thank you.

Hello Mark! Thanks for asking about ssh2incus on IncusOS.

We are working on a solution for IncusOS at the moment and we will post an update as soon as it's ready.

It would be helpful if you could describe your workflow and authentication methods that you would like to have.

Exciting, thank you!
I run a server at a college that is shared (or going to be) among a few different computational research projects.

Each will have its own ssh port, and I think with ssh2incus I could use a single port and have them use a hostname identifier instead.

Other faculty and their trusted research students would have accounts, and all of them should be contained to their respective projects.

I don't need ssh2incus as the number of total instances is fairly low. Maybe it doesn't fit the job I have.

Thank you for answering, either way!
